For fishery products caught outside the North-East Atlantic (FAO fishing area 27) and the Mediterranean (FAO fishing area 37), it is sufficient to state the name of the FAO fishing area. For products originating from FAO fishing areas 27 and 37, a sub-catch area according to the FAO subdivision must be indicated. The Bundesmarktverband considers this requirement to be fulfilled if the official information on the sub-catch areas used by the regional fisheries organizations is generally understandable. A repetition of the indication of the sub-fishing area is only necessary if it concerns less common designations.
